January 30th

Today my son turns 16 - where did the time go? He's a good kid, and a Gentleman and a Scholar (as my Grandad used to say).
Happy Birthday, kiddo...
(I won't embarrass him by posting a photo-just picture a really awesome kid)
Bring us a Penguins win!

Ricky is the guy in the middle - always all smiles and jokes
And because today is my son's birthday, it is impossible to forget another birthday.
Our good friend (who we lost in July 2017). Today is also his birthday. So many good memories.
Ironically today on Twitter is #BellLetsTalk day. Ricky's birthday is a good time to remind folks that you are never alone. There is always someone listening.

It's also a good time to say that just because I'm super sad and missing Ricky doesn't mean I am not over the moon that my son is growing up, and that our family is healthy. Yes, I'm still struggling with some things, but I can't dwell on the sad stuff. One thing I have learned through Burton Nutrition is that you can't dwell on the bad. It isn't mentally or physically healthy.

Trust me, I could be a wreck every day. But I'm choosing not to be. I have a son, I have a husband, and I have three fur balls who all love me. I have family and friends. Every day I choose to keep my head above water and focus on the good.

Sometimes that's all you can do....

And other times all you can do is drool over Sam Winchester from Supernatural...

So how about a bit of book news???
Along with working with my author friend Mary Smith on a fun story, I decided to start a new Renegades book (number 11). It is currently untitled, lol. And if you are part of my reader's page, (Renegades Ice Crew on FB) then you already know who this one will be about.

And stay tuned for a cover reveal of Renegades 10 - Melting the Ice (I'm soooooo excited about that one! I cannot wait for you all to read it!!! It might be my favorite so far! - And yes, I know that I say that with all my books, lol)

That's it for now...remember, there's always someone listening. #YouAreNotAlone #YouAreEnough

Hello from the land of the germs...

Lordy, these germs are powerful!!

Today is a week since I started feeling sick, and I am slightly (only slightly) feeling better, but I actually feel human today, which in itself is something to cheer about. (But I won't be cheering because that will bring on a coughing fit of massive proportions - trust me.)

I am not quite well enough to have any desire to be in the kitchen cooking, or running up and down the stairs to do laundry, however I just might have to. While last week I was able to instruct my teenager to do a load of laundry, empty and load the dishwasher, and sit back and watch while Mr. G took care of all the meals, this week is a different story. Now both of my guys are getting sick too. (And, yes, I have been doing my womanly duty of nagging them both to take their vitamins in addition to Vitamin C - because if the roles were reversed, I would be mainlining vitamin C!!)

And I am happy to report that since I've had no appetite, I am back to my pre-holiday weight, lol. Not that I was trying, but I'm happy about it. Less I have to work off.
Speaking of my new Healthy way of eating... I have a short-term goal of 20 more pounds by March. That will get me to my first long-term goal = 1year. Second long-term goal = 2yrs. Last long-term goal = 3yrs.
If I can do this, anyone can...I have zero drive, zero self-control, and I'm lazy - LOL. My job is sitting at the computer. But, I am determined to get healthy, and that combined with seeing results is what motivates me.
Look out 2019! I'm #GettingHealthy

If you are getting healthy too, follow me on Twitter @Tanger_Chick
Once I can walk more than two steps without going into a coughing fit, I'll be adding a few gym days to my healthy eating. (Go me!)

I hope you are starting out your 2019 on a positive note too (and not sick like me - but still positive).

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a great New Years. Did you celebrate it in style? I did, if you call relaxing on the couch in sweats, watching Dick Clark's New Year's Rocking Eve, and getting in some writing.

Oh, and coughing. And sneezing. But Mr. G did make our signature "Gatto" Italian Hoagies. Yum.

Yep, sick and in style...that was me. LOL.

So, I start my 2019 miserable. I hate being sick. Funny thing, I hadn't caught a cold in almost a year. I contribute that to my new healthy eating, and the supplements I take. BUT, between Christmas and New Years, I was enjoying way too many cookies and bread. (and I don't think I went near a veggie except for our "Second" Christmas, where I brought a veggie tray - mainly so I could eat them vs cookies.) Today I'm going back on my health journey, and I have a bottle of vitamin C on it's way to me courtesy Amazon, but won't be here until tomorrow. (When will they start delivering same-day by drone? Cause I could use that right now.)

I have some veggies in the steamer, and I might make a generic version of veggie soup just to get vitamins into me, lol. If you know me, you know that I am NO cook...haha. But some steamed veggies are bound to make me feel better!

Today, I am not up to doing much of anything, I'm pretty much just a sick, sad sack, LOL, so I have taken up residence on the couch and am currently binging on FRIENDS (just until General Hospital and Days of Our Lives come on).

I'm looking forward to 2019 bringing a few exciting things from me:
  • I am in the process of co-authoring a book with my awesome friend and author Mary Smith. Stay tuned for more info on that
  • I hope to have Renegades 10 - Melting the Ice out early in 2019. Keep an eye out on any of my social media for a cover reveal
  • I am also working on a stand-alone Christmas book. That will stay "under-wraps" until much later in 2019
  • I will be doing an author signing in Pittsburgh in September 2019 (Cranberry Twp, PA) - Authors in the Steel City 2019 - AITSC19 Facebook Page Link
Be sure to follow my Author Facebook page, and Twitter - BookChick58 for updates on new releases.
If you enjoy talking hockey, Pittsburgh Penguins, and weight loss, check out my personal Twitter Page - Tanger_Chick - but I warn you, my hockey rivalry side shows on that page.

2018 ended on a high note for me (besides getting this stupid cold) and my writing career, and I look forward to all that 2019 has to offer.
I also lost 31 lbs in 2018 and can't wait to see what I can accomplish in this new year. I am dedicated to getting healthy, and am bringing (dragging) the family along on the journey. #AuthorsGettingHealthy #DoingItForMe

May 2019 be your best year yet, and may all your wishes come true.
Don't Forget to #AlwaysSparkle
And if you haven't tried the Renegades Series yet,
there's no better time than 2019! 😉

Did you know?

Did you know that I write two very different types of Romances? My Renegades Series is Spicy & Sweet Sports Romance. Lots of spice heati...
