Blindsided - Renegades 7 - Coming Soon!

Hi!

Have you seen the Pre-Order for my new release BLINDSIDED? Available on June 15th, 2017.
Renegades 7 is the story of Sam Morris and Trina Kidd Morris. books2read.com/u/3nerNB

Ironically there's been a lot of talk about concussions in the NHL lately. Players taking hits to the head, some return to the ice and we all scratch our heads in question if they are really okay. Some are out for days or even months.

Concussions are scary. So scary. I've seen my favorite player get hit more times then I care to remember. And each time Letang takes a hit to the head and doesn't return to the ice, I worry. I worry for him, for his career, for his family, and his future. My hometown team's captain is another example of the worry. These guys are young. They have their whole lives a head of them.

I admit, I wasn't too educated in concussions until I watched the movie CONCUSSION. It scared me. Scared is an understatement. I started to do research and watch the games a bit closer. I started to follow a former WWE Superstar turned Concussion activist, and he makes excellent points. Even he has been questioning the hits over the last month. So, as hockey fans, we aren't alone in our worry and concern.

That concern, and love of the game, brought me to write this book. It might bring up questions or concerns that you never knew you had, or bring the ones you tried not to worry about to light. It may hit home harder than you expect a work of fiction to. As a fan, my concerns are real. As a wife, and a mom, my worries are real.

The reactions I've heard from my beta readers is more than I could've imagined. I started this book earlier this year, and could've never foreseen the chaos of head-shots that have been happening over the last month or so. My beta readers felt the emotion and the scary reality of sports concussions while reading this book.

There's so much debate right now about how the NHL says they want to get head-shots out of the game, but there's not a whole bunch being done to back up that claim.

In Blindsided, you are seeing the concussion aftermath from the player's POV and his wife's POV.

Sam is my favorite Renegade so far.
The character was created from many different muses, all important to me in their own ways. Sam loves his family more than anything - he's always been a family guy at heart. His current circumstance is tearing him apart. As talented of a hockey player as he is, fixing his life is the one thing he doesn't know how to do.

I don't want to give away too much, but you need to know this story is very close to my heart. And I'm so excited for you to read it!

Meanwhile, while I'm preparing for it's release, I've been rooting on my Pens and biting my nails through every game. I've been watching re-runs of Bones and trying to get caught up on this season of Supernatural. But Sam Morris stays on my mind...

I'm also part of a new FB Group to support the Pittsburgh Pens Hockey. If you're interested, come check us out: https://www.facebook.com/groups/205388946642432/

I tend to have a hard time letting go of my characters after a book is released and I need to move on to the next one, but I think Sam will stay with me a while. I hope he stays with you too.

I'll do my best to do more with this blog, and stay tuned to my pages for more info. June 26th is the Facebook release celebration. As soon as I get the link I'll share it with you. It'll be full of my author friends!
